Gray Kotzé is a South African Director of Photography based in Cape Town.

His feature work often bridges narrative fiction and non-fiction documentary - sitting between these two worlds. Films he has shot have screened at major international festivals, including Venice, Rotterdam, Santa Barbara, Melbourne, Durban and Hong Kong. Most recently, Variations on a Theme, which he shot, was selected as South Africa’s official submission to the 99th Academy Awards.

Alongside his cinematography work, Gray shares technical and artistic insights on In Depth Cine, a YouTube channel dedicated to visual storytelling and filmmaking craft.
